  2022-01-21

We found that activator drugs decrease NOsGC protein levels in Sf9 cells. This decrease in protein levels is more pronounced for BAY 60–2770 compared to cinaciguat, and more obvious for α1/β1 compared to α2/β1 (see Fig. 2). This led us to hypothesize that the reduction in protein level correlates wi

The Trehalose of biological properties and interactions of GSK-3 have been reviewed recently (, , , , ). The interactions of GSK-3 in the signaling pathways induced by nutraceuticals is covered in the review by ) in this special issue of . GSK-3 is a frequent target of many nutraceuticals such as c

Treatment KD is currently the treatment of choice for GLUT1-DS. It is a high-fat, carbohydrate-restricted diet that mimics the metabolic state of fasting; so, the KD relies an exogenous rather than body fat for ketone production, thus maintaining ketosis without weight loss. As the developing br

  2022-01-20

Cx43 is a phosphoprotein that is predominantly phosphorylated in the control state. Cx43 can be phosphorylated by a number of kinases and dephosphorylated by protein phosphatases such as PP1 and PP2A [6], [10]. Posttranslational phosphorylation of Cx43 is thought to influence intercellular coupling

Role of FPRs in Cancer Concluding Remarks Activation of FPRs by formylated bacterial peptides or by host-derived mitochondrial peptides is required for local control of infection and wound healing. Nevertheless, various detrimental effects can result from the release of formylated peptides int

A frequent complication of SIRS and sepsis is the development of increased airway resistance and lung inflammation [2], [3]. For example, Uhlig et al. [3] demonstrated that rat lungs exposed to endotoxin present increased airway resistance due to constriction of terminal mass of cl [3] Moreover, it

The analytical approach for the simultaneous determination of HA and its metabolites is complex. There are commercial kits that allow the determination of HA through ELISA and of its metabolites through radioimmunoassay (RIA) techniques. However, these immunological-based techniques do not allow sim

Based on pharmacophore modeling, a good HDAC inhibitor has at least three sides/regions: the attachment side of the Zn2+ cofactor/HDAC active site (Zn2+ binding group/ZBG), hydrophobic cap (CAP) and linker containing connecting unit (CU) with electronegative groups (Mohan et al., 2011, Rossi et al.,

If some of the experimentally determined tRNAGlu identity elements are unique to E. coli, then there also must be some unique phylum-specific residues in the corresponding GluRS (E. coli in particular, and proteobacteria in general) as well. In this paper we focus on identifying such residues in E.
